Mountain roads

Not all roads are to be taken by you;

Some take your heart away.

Like a maiden,

I bet they flirt and tease:

And just when you think you have a hang of them,

They turn –

Like the mood swings of a free-willed dame.

Then they amaze you

With the spectacular scenery they unfold,

Just across the bend.

Like the heart of a woman,

A mountain road is full of mysteries and beauty.

The ‘dug-dug’ of my machine,

And the ‘lub-dub’ of my heart,

Reverberate in unison

Driven and taken by the chase

of this Himalayan mystery.
