4. Breathwork & Pranayama — Specific Notice
Pranayama and breathwork practices involve deliberate manipulation of the breath, including breath retention (Kumbhaka), rapid breathing techniques (Kapalabhati, Bhastrika), and extended exhalation patterns. When practised correctly and progressively, these techniques are safe for healthy individuals. However:
Intensive breathwork can cause lightheadedness, tingling sensations, or temporary emotional release in some individuals. These are generally transient and not harmful, but may be alarming if unexpected.
Breath retention practices are contraindicated for individuals with uncontrolled hypertension, heart conditions, epilepsy, glaucoma, or during pregnancy. If any of these apply to you, do not practise retention techniques without explicit medical clearance.
If you experience chest pain, severe dizziness, shortness of breath beyond what feels safe, or any other concerning symptom during a session, stop immediately and seek medical attention if required.
Note on teacher role: Our teachers are trained to monitor participants during live sessions and will pause or modify instruction where a concern arises. However, our teachers are not licensed medical professionals and cannot provide medical assessment or emergency care.
5. Individual Results and Testimonials
