Live Online Yoga Nidra Program for Beginners

Evening Sessions — Pancha Kosha · Sankalpa · Mantra

Most people encounter Yoga Nidra as a 20-minute audio file - a pleasant voice, a body scan, and little else. What that recording rarely explains is that Yoga Nidra is not "guided relaxation." It is a precise, centuries-old technology for moving consciously through the five layers of your being - the Pancha Kosha (five sheaths) - while remaining fully awake at the threshold of sleep.

Practiced correctly, this state is where the nervous system actually resets. Not through effort, and not through forcing the mind to be quiet, but through a systematic rotation of awareness that bypasses the analytical mind entirely. This is why a single well-guided Yoga Nidra session can deliver the restorative depth of several hours of sleep — a claim modern sleep science is only now beginning to confirm.

This 9-day live program teaches Yoga Nidra as it was actually transmitted — through lineage, not through a downloaded script. And here’s part worth considering: you don’t need to carve out an hour or rearrange your evening. You just need 30 minutes. Yes, the same 30 minutes you’d otherwise lose to a digital screen. These 30 minutes will be handed back to you as deep, conscious rest. That’s the exchange Ekattva Yogshala is offering: a small window of your day. Returned to you as something that actually restores you. Night after night

You will move through each Kosha (sheath) in a sequence, learn to work with Sankalpa (your personal resolve), and use the mantra chants as your anchor during the rotation of consciousness. This is a traditional integration you won’t find outside India and rarely even within it!

Yoga Nidra Program Journey

Each evening's 30-minute live Yoga Nidra, also referred to as psychic sleep in the west, session unfolds as one continuous journey rather than a fixed daily checklist — because real progress through this practice belongs to the practitioner, not to a syllabus. You’re not ticking boxes here. You’re descending - one layer at time - into parts of yourself that a busy day never gives you access to.

The arc begins by settling the body and understanding what Yoga Nidra actually is, distinct from meditation or a recorded relaxation track. From there, the practice moves through the Pancha Kosha — the five layers of your being.

It starts with the Annamaya Kosha (the physical sheath) - layer most of us live in all day without ever really feeling. Then it moves to into Pranayama Kosha (the breath and energy layer) where the So Hum mantra stops being a phase you repeat and becomes something closer to rhythm you rest inside of.  It becomes your anchor during the rotation of consciousness. Next comes Manomaya Kosha - the mental-emotional layer where thoughts and feelings that surfaced earlier in the session are simply noticed — not analyzed, resolved, or followed into a story. It now moves through Vijanamaya Kosha (wisdom heath) where Sakshi Bhava — witness consciousness — begins to arise naturally: not as something you try to achieve but as something that simply appears once everything else has quieted. Finally comes the layer of stillness and contentment a.k.a. Anandamaya Kosha. It’s the layer of stillness and contentment - the place this whole journey has been leading towards all along.

Threaded through all five layers is your Sankalpa — a personal resolve planted early in the practice, revisited and deepened as the week unfolds, and returned to in the closing sessions as you build a sustainable home practice. Some practitioners move through this arc smoothly session by session; others find a particular layer takes longer to settle into. Both are normal — the sequence is a map, not a race.

What You Can Expect

Deep, restorative rest — the kind that a single well-guided session can approach the restfulness of several hours of sleep, without requiring you to fall asleep.

A calmer nervous system — practiced consistently, this style of conscious rest is associated with a shift out of overstimulation and into genuine parasympathetic recovery.

A clearer relationship with your own mind — through witness consciousness (Sakshi Bhava), many practitioners describe feeling less identified with passing thoughts and emotions.

A personal resolve that actually sticksSankalpa, planted during deep rest rather than through willpower, is designed to work differently than a typical goal or affirmation.

A real evening ritual — a 30-minute window that outperforms rest of your day, The same window you’d otherwise give to a screen. Our live Yoga Nidra program will redirect it into something that actually gives back!

Pairs Well With: The Pranayama Suite

If breath work and conscious rest sound like two halves of the same practice, that's intentional. We recommend pairing this program with our Pranayama Suite — breath work each morning, Yoga Nidra each evening — so you're supporting your nervous system at both ends of the day rather than just one. Graduates of either program receive the bundled rate automatically.

Your Yoga Nidra Teachers

This psychic sleep program is guided by Ekattva's in-house masters. Our masters have  20+ years of experience. They hold Master's degree in Yoga and have spent their formative years training within traditional ashram lineages in Rishikesh — including Parmarth Niketan Gurukul and Sadhak Gram Ashram. Our teachers have trained under teachers who themselves carry an unbroken line of transmission. This is the same foundation behind the emphasis on lineage, and not a script, throughout this program: the practice is taught the way it was actually learned, over decades, inside a living tradition.
